Carrington on Google Code

Carrington has always been Open Source (GPL), and now it is more transparent as it is hosted on Google Code.

http://code.google.com/p/carrington/

The project has been reorganized so that the core framework can be an svn:external for the themes hosted there. Unfortunately Google makes you choose between https (accessible by project members) and http (public) for svn:externals, so that’s less than ideal. But it’s better than hosting it internally at Crowd Favorite.

With public hosting everyone has access in incremental enhancements and fixes as they happen.

  1. Very cool Alex & Crowd Favorite folks. Keep up the good work :)

  2. It’s really great! But is it possible to add po/mo files for legal and easier way of localization without intrusion into code?

  3. Need support for WordPress 2.7 comments! When? When?

Other than that this theme is really nice….

  4. When the official 2.7 release will be :) , I guess

  5. Hi Alex.

    1. The link to the svn repository here is incorrect: http://code.google.com/p/carrington/source/checkout – the link should be http://carrington.googlecode.com/svn/blog/trunk/ (not http://carrington.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ )

. When checking out the code with svn, I first got this error:
    Fetching external item into ‘functions’
    svn: SSL is not supported

After getting SSL working, I got this error:
    Fetching external item into ‘functions’
Authentication realm: Google Code Subversion Repository

I don’t have a username or password for that. Do I need the external items that are in ‘functions’?

    Thank you
